The Symposium in “Frontiers in Neuroscience” will gather researchers working in strategic areas that represent the many facets of modern neuroscience. The program covers areas ranging from evolution of the nervous system to recent advances in neurotechnologies.
Opening lecture by Dr. Nicole Le Douarin (CNRS, France). Six round tables, each with one or two Brazilian neuroscientists, mainly from our Institute (ICB, UFRJ), and some of the most famous scientists from several countries, including USA, Uruguay, Italy, Germany and France, will cover the following topics: - Diversity with common patterns: evolution of the nervous system through changes in its development. - What do glial circuits tell us about brain pathologies? - Will it be possible to reconnect the lesioned nervous system? - Towards a centenary mankind: how can we control dementia. - Mind and its mistakes: neuropsychiatry in the XXI century. - Neurotechnologies: what shall we wait for the next decades? We highly encourage all neuroscience students, professionals and faculties to join us at Búzios for this rare opportunity to get in touch and discuss their projects with some of the most eminent researchers in contemporary neuroscience. |
